hi folks, sorry for the lack of updates... i'm a bit hampered by not having my own computer
around because my brother managed to spill about half a glass of water on it while it was
running, the night before i moved... so obviously, it was a bit touch-and-go there. luckily,
the laptop is mostly ok, though the keyboard has to be replaced and it will cost me almost
111 pounds, cuz "liquid spillage" is not covered under the warranty!
so anyways, in the meantime, check out some of the pics i uploaded to
flickr before the laptop incident... there's some pics

before i moved in (as it is now much, much, much messier)...

8.29.2005 two weeks... two weeks!
well, it's been a long time since i've written anything... i've obviously been busy, wrapping
stuff up here... i've taken care of a lot of stuff already, like all my bills and such, and
i've still got some official things like taxes and other forms to deal with, but it's going
smoothly...

featured on the gadling travel blog... this was
again from my last trip to spain, though not in pamplona... this was at a place called
ribadesella, near gijón in asturias... kinda timeless, no?
last day at work is sept. 9, and it occurred to me this week that it's less than 2 weeks
away! i can't believe my time here at ericsson is
coming to a close so quickly... it doesn't seem real... definitely won't miss the work, but
i'll miss the people... that's always the thing you miss most. it's tough moving away from
something so familiar, but it happens... that's life.
so what have i been doing... well, i went to london one weekend to check out housing... i
obviously can't afford to live on my own, so i've been looking at shared flats... it's a lot
easier looking for places in english, i can tell you that much... :) but no luck so far... i
went to 11 places on that weekend, finding 3 places that I thought were good, but my first 2
choices went to other people and the third choice place isn't in a rush to find someone yet,
so i'm still homeless at this point... but no worries, fatti says i should find a place
pretty quick, within a week. we'll see.
what else... went to visit steph down in steinen again... hung out some more with her bros,
that was cool... andy and thimmo are both pretty cool guys... didn't get to see much of her
parents, but i did meet a few of her relatives, and they were pretty nice too...
caroline, david's french ex-roommate and mark's girlfriend, left for shanghai this week...
she's doing a 4-month term there as part of her studies... crazy! i, of course, was of no
help at all, since i couldn't help her practice her mandarin, but i think she'll do fine...
it's the food i think she's worried about... hahaha...
and barbara is in beijing now... she wass back in madrid for a while, prepping for her
time over there, which is considerably longer... i think a year, at least...
this past weekend was my penultimate one at ibc and
they thought it might be my last, so they gave me a going-away blessing, praying for me and
giving me a present... that was really great, to see that i've been able to bless so many
friends over the last 4 years... the outpouring of prayers was quite humbling... i'll
definitely miss coming here on sundays... the brothers and sisters of ibc will always be in
my heart.
what else... oh, i picked up a skateboard for only 25 euros! deadly, eh? it looks pretty
cool, and i'm starting to get the hang of it, though any hills where i start going fast I
bail out pretty quick... i'm chicken like that... hahaha... no, not trying to recapture lost
youth, just trying to find an easier mode of transportation than cycling, but faster than
walking...
also managed to find a new digicam, as the old white
t11 is long gone...
stuck with sony, but i didn't go with another thin and
light one... rather, went with the
p200, which is a pretty
killer camera... 7mp, zeiss optics, and a good flash!
anyways, i figure to get even more scarce as i start packing and all that, so don't expect
any updates until the move... well, maybe one more... we'll see.
