how i got started...
here's where i get to tell you all about my photography hobby. as you may be aware already, i'm a pretty avid
photography fan, but i'd probably rate my skills as just average... probably below average, actually. the last
photo course i took was summer studio 1980-something. any of you north york kids remember summer studio? yeah,
that was the bomb.

anyways, i grew up with my dad's camera, a minolta slr. can't remember the model number. well, it was old
school, way older than me. manual everything, though there was a cool light meter thing that really helped with
getting the right exposure.

stuck with minolta when i got my first autofocus slr, the 450si. it was pretty nice at the time, good for a
starter kit... used it to snap everything for the yearbook in high school. it got passed down to my brother
after a couple years, the wilderness known as university when i didn't have the time or resources to put into my
photography habit.

so after i started working, i figured i could take it up again, and i searched high and low for a new camera...
originally, i was gonna go with canon, the elan 7 in particular... but i found a good deal on a nikon f100 on
ebay (to be honest, i was surprised i won the auction), so now, i'm a nikon freak.
